Study the Word Program

This April, Precept South Africa will be hosting the Study the Word Program. Study a book of the Bible with us in-depth! This is for anyone who desires to know and live out God’s Word.

Job: When the pain is great

4 - 8 April (Monday-Thursday)

What is the Study Program

An opportunity to spend just 5 days digging into God's Word and get an overview and understanding of a whole book of the Bible! Engage in deep group discussion with other believers, and watch a teaching message from David Arthur together.

We will be studying the book of Job together. We've all experienced suffering and trials of some kind, and the book of Job addresses the big questions about suffering and God's sovereignty.

Daily Schedule

9am - 10am

Discussion

Our week will kick off on Monday morning where we will have our first discussion based on the 1st lesson which you need to prep beforehand.

10:15 - 11:15am

Video Lecture by Precept Bible Teacher

This will be followed by a video lecture where David Arthur will teach on what was discussed.

11:30am - 12:30pm

Training on How to create lesson plans (for leaders)

You then have the option of joining in on the early-afternoon leaders’ training session where we will teach you the skill of putting together a Lesson plan. This will be ideal for both old and new Precept leaders, as well as anyone new interested in leading Precept Bible Studies.

For the rest of the day you are going to need to complete the next day's lesson on your own.

Who should join

This study program is for anyone who wants to prioritise God's Word. This is an incredible opportunity to take just a few days and really dig deep. Once you've worked through Job, you will gain invaluable truths about persevering through suffering and trusting in the God who walks with us through all our trials. Grab a friend and let's study together!

About Job

But I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the end he will stand on the dust. —Job 19:25

Why does God allow human suffering? It’s the question at the heart of the book of Job, and it’s a question every one of us will ask at one time or another. No answer offered could satisfy Job’s ache, no matter how his friends tried. But that’s because the answer Job needed was not some portion of wisdom, but the Author of wisdom itself. Job doesn’t ignore painful seasons or circumstances, but points us to the enduring source of our faith: The care and power of God. Join us in a five-day study of Job: When the pain is great.

Study the Word Program

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work" - 2 Timothy 3:14-17
